Whether you want to watch a movie or present a PowerPoint presentation, it can be very useful for connecting your Android smartphone or tablet to a projector. The number of options you have depends on the projector you are using. Each projector has different ports and features. So how to connect Android to the video projector to take a look at the most common options.
First, check if the projector has an application that can be used with it. Branded projectors, such as Panasonic , may have applications that allow you to connect over a Wi-Fi or Bluetooth network and design from Android. If you can’t find an app on the Google Play website, check out the website of the company that made the projector or documentation.
Chromecast
This option is a safe bet to work with most Android devices. Whether you want to watch movies or put the Android screen on your projector, Google Chromecast is a great option. The Chromecast attaches directly to the HDMI port on a projector where you can send videos from your Android device over a Wi-Fi network.
Miracast
Many new Android devices and projectors support Miracast. If your Android device supports Miracast, but the projector does not, you can purchase a Miracast video adapter that attaches to the HDMI port on the projector. Miracast allows you to mirror anything on your Android device.
Cable connection
If the wireless solution will not be useful, the next good thing is to get a wired connection. Your Android device will need to support a type of cable video connection. The two most common connections are MHL or HDMI.
HDMI
If your device has a Mini-HDMI port (which is rare), use a Mini-HDMI cable to connect an HDMI port to the device and the standard HDMI port on the video projector . Some devices like Samsung Galaxy S8 and Note8 can support USB-C to HDMI adapter.
MHL
If your Android device supports MHL, you can connect an MHL HDMI adapter to your device, then connect it to the HDMI port on the projector.
Note: Make sure you purchase an adapter , which is the exact version (2.0, 3.0 etc.) of the MHL required for the device.
If your projector does not have an HDMI port, you will probably need to use a VGA port. There are MHL adapters for VGA and Mini-HDMI available, but be careful which of them you buy, many are unreliable. For the best results, look for one that is specifically designed for your phone model, or look for reviews on product pages to make sure you get what you want.
