Navigating in “Guest” mode

How to use more than one Gmail account in Google Chrome – Want to use more than one Gmail or social media account on the same computer without having one automatically disconnected? We teach 🙂

Anyone who uses Google email for work or study must have already realized one of the great difficulties of the tool: the possibility of having two different accounts open in the Google Chrome browser.

This prevents having professional e-mail and connected personnel, for example, making it an alternative to just keep an account open or open one of the accounts in another browser. But this is not a very practical and productive solution.

However, there are two ways to use one or more Gmail accounts in Google Chrome: creating different profiles in the browser or browsing in “Guest” mode. Next we will explain how to use and how each option works.

Different Profiles

Google Chrome allows you to create one or more profiles in the browser. This alternative is perfect for anyone who shares a computer with others or lets children use it, as there are privacy settings where it is possible to monitor the activity of profiles on the internet, while their data is protected.

Creating different profiles is also very useful when you want to separate personal (or student) subjects from professional subjects. This way, everything stays in place, making it possible to “migrate” whenever necessary.

Creating different profiles

1. Open Google Chrome and click on the three dots located in the upper right corner, next to the saved extensions, if any. Then, click on “Settings“.

2. A new tab will open with options for you to log in to your Google account or create a new profile. First click on “Turn on Sync”.

4. Ready! Google Chrome will set up your profile with history, favorites, extensions and everything.

Adding a new profile

Adding a new profile

1. On the settings screen, choose the option “Add” and click on the arrow next to it.

2. Next, enter the name of the person you want to add, choose an icon to represent them and set preferences. If you are creating the profile for a child, the ideal is to select the supervision option. After everything is done, click on “Save”.

3. Ready! It will open a new window where the person who will use it can login or browse freely.

2. In the new window, click on the “Browse as a Guest” option.

3. Ready! A window will open and you or someone else can browse without leaving a trail. The Guest browsing mode works the same as the anonymous mode.
