The new version of the Opera browser (Opera 68) now has a feature connected to Instagram, in which users get direct access to the feed, along with Stories and direct messages (DMs).

The new update, according to Opera, aims to provide the mobile application experience in a desktop browser.

Users can access the functionality by clicking on the Instagram icon in the left sidebar and logging into their account on the service.

In addition, Opera also includes the ‘Workspaces‘ feature, which allows users to manage different projects in the same browser window.

Maciej Kocemba, product director at Opera, said:

“People like to choose which social media platforms to use and on which device to access them,” he said.

“We are integrating Instagram to give them better access to their friends and loved ones and so that they have the convenience of using a large screen and keyboard to watch Stories or write comments and DMs.”

“We found that social media was one of the main reasons why people were distracted and constantly checked their phones, but now desktop browsing is coming back.”

“People can finally turn off their phones. Using Instagram on Opera is more enjoyable and doesn’t make you lose focus ”.
