  2. Once executed in the system, ransomware locks the computer screen and encrypts files.
  3. Attacker then demands a ransom fee to decrypt these files.

  • Visiting websites with malicious content.
  • Plugging in infected USB drives.
  • Clicking on malicious links (phishing emails) or attachments in emails. Clicking on files with ransomware embedded.

  • Do not download pirated or illegal software.
