YouTube Go – Watching offline movies

YouTube Go

Some time ago I wrote about how you can download a video from YouTube quickly and efficiently . Until now, the only way has been external tools and special scripts. It turns out that Google finally broke and took into account users who want to watch YouTube videos when they do not have internet access.

For some time now, more and more applications have appeared on Google Play with the note “Go”. And this, fortunately, has nothing to do with the iconic game whose main characters are Pokemons. It is about applications that especially for the needs of those markets in which high-speed Internet access is still a luxury that not everyone can afford. Popular tools from Google have received their alternative versions, which on the one hand take up less space in the device’s memory and on the other, use less cellular data. We have already got such titles as: Maps Go, Gmail Go, Files Go Gboard Go and many others. The series of lean applications also included the new version of YouTube.

YouTube offline

Applications from the “Go” series debut most often in India and so it was in the case of YouTube. While the previous tools in this series did not arouse special emotions in the world, in this case it is slightly different. The application has a feature that YouTube users have long dreamed of. It’s about the ability to download movies to smartphones and tablets. How to use this function in practice? For example, if you plan a trip by plane, you can download selected movies offline before departure and watch them without worrying that the lack of Wi-Fi or the possibility of using data transmission at all will be any obstacle.

The application allows you to choose from several different video quality standards. Of course, the higher the resolution of the matter will have, the more space in the smartphone’s memory will take up the film. YouTube Go also offers a quick preview that allows you to view a few frames of the movie but does not particularly strain our data transfer.

File transfer without internet

However, this is not the end of news from YouTube Go. The application allows you to transfer downloaded movies between devices and again, does not require internet connectivity. Files are sent using Bluetooth technology. This solution was also created for less developed countries, but it will certainly find application also with us.

In India is it available ?

Although YouTube Go is reaching more and more countries, in India we are able to download the application directly from Google Play. Fortunately, there is a way around this. YouTube Go can be installed from an external source. This involves some risk but just use the proven service offering APK packages. Personally, I would recommend the APK Mirror platform. You can find the file link here .
