Unlock the bootloader with the command fastboot oem unlock everyone knows, but what if we do not want to punch the unlock meter and lose data? A very friendly tool comes with help.
OnePlus One Toolkit by manudroid19
At the beginning of the fun with OnePlus One, such a powerful tool has not been made. If anyone is curious how it was done without a tool before, then I invite you to the topic on the XDA-Developers forum .
Returning to Toolkit, its use is trivial. Download it from here (v2.0), but the latest version can be found in this topic . If you have an XDA account, be sure to click there Thanks!
The program is enough to download and run, so I don’t have to explain anything.
Unlocking Bootloader
- launch the program
- Connect OnePlus One to your computer
- If it does not detect it, then try to install the ADB (Manage Drivers) drivers
- Select Unlock Bootloader in the second section – Method 2 (Experimental)
After this procedure, the bootloader in your phone should be unlocked. The method is safe (many people used it and there were no negative effects) and much better than the first one, because you do not lose data and the unlock count is not filled . Theoretically, the warranty is not lost by unlocking the bootloader, but sometimes it is better to keep a nice “0” value – for example, for sale or returning to their service. If you have “0”, they will not tell you that you broke the phone yourself and it is no longer covered by the warranty. Combination, but prudent always insured.
