Linux Kernel 5.3 in a stable version has been officially released. What does this big update bring?
The changes include the addition of support for AMD graphics cards – specifically Radeon RX 5700 series models. Zhaoxin x86 processors, popular in Chinese devices, were also supported.
Some of the newer Intel solutions have also been fully serviced. Speech incl. about HDR technology, as well as the Intel Speed Select function used in Intel Cascade Lake systems. It greatly facilitates optimization of energy consumption.
Support for Apple and Asus devices, especially MacBooks and notebooks, has been improved, some older versions of hardware drivers have been optimized, and support for 16 million new IPv4 addresses in the 0.0.0.0/8 range has been added.
