Modern man spends most of his time in front of a computer screen or smartphone. Not surprisingly, people began to worry about their negative impact on people’s health.
Reduced attention, disruption of sleep and wakefulness cycles, and most importantly – additional eye strain. All this can threaten those who spend too much time in front of the smartphone screen. Fortunately, night mode helps reduce the negative effects.
On Android, the night mode (night theme) blocks the blue spectrum of colors, which disrupts healthy sleep. As a result, its use can significantly reduce eye fatigue, especially in low light conditions.
Then we will tell you how to turn on night mode on Android and what to do if it is not on your smartphone.
How to turn on night mode on your new smartphone
On almost all new Android smartphones, night mode is available by default. If you are using the Android Oreo operating system version (or newer), you can easily activate it. How to do it:
- Open Settings.
- Go to the OSD menu.
- Find the “Night mode” item here and move the slider to the “On” state.
- Or select “Read Mode” in which you can manually configure scheduled activation and other parameters.
On some Honor, Huawei, Asus, OnePlus, Samsung and Nexus smartphones, “Night Mode” is enabled differently (not through settings) or has a different name. For example, “Filter blue”. However, such functionality should be built into most modern devices with Android Oreo and newer.
