Not everyone likes the fonts installed on Android smartphones and tablets. Someone wants to replace them with their own, and someone just diversifies the appearance of the interface. With the free Font Installer application you can easily add new fonts to the system. This method requires root privileges.
There are several ways that this can be done on a limited number of devices without root, but the option for all devices really is exactly the font installer. As I said, we need root rights. If you already have root privileges, you can follow these steps.
Download the Font Installer from Google Play and the font you like in TTF format. Transfer it to your Android smartphone or tablet and open Font Installer.
Before installing new fonts, I would advise you to backup your standard system font. To do this, go to “Menu” , then “Backup / Restore” and click “Backup” . Most likely, Superuser or SuperSU (depending on what you have installed) will apply for SuperUser rights, confirm them.
Then you can start installing the font. To do this, go to the “Local” section and find the downloaded TTF font file. Click on it and the “Install” command will appear in the popup menu. Choose it.
Superuser or SuperSU will ask for your rights again. Superusers, confirm them. At the very end, the Font Installer will ask if you want to restart the device. You must answer “Yes” and then the changes will take effect.
You can also install a font from the online Font Installer collection, which has over 200 fonts. To do this, open the “Server” section and the font you like from the directory. Click on it and a dialog will appear.
Choose “Preview” if you want to see the font and see how it will look on your device. If you want to install the new font immediately, click “Install”. Again, the font installer will require you to restart your smartphone or tablet. You must agree and then the new font will be applied.
