Not everyone has access to the Internet on an Android smartphone or tablet, but from time to time you need to install the appropriate application, update older versions of games and programs, download additional cache, etc. In this case, you can distribute the Internet from a computer (connected to the network) for using a USB cable.

To connect your smartphone or tablet to the Internet via a PC with a USB interface, you must have root privileges. If this item is ready, you can continue.

By the way, root rights may be needed in other cases: when you need to  transfer applications from internal memory to an SD memory card   or, for example,  increase the speed of the Internet on Android . And now back to connecting the device to the network using a computer.

To get started, download and install the Android SDK for Windows  by reference  .

Then go to “Network and Internet” on your computer, then “Network Connections“. In the new window that opens, select a network connection, right-click it and go to connection properties.

Then open the “Sharing” tab and select the appropriate option – “Allow other network users to connect via this computer’s Internet” Then click “OK“.

After completing the steps we take an Android smartphone or tablet in hand, go to “Settings“, open the “for programmers” and put a check next to “USB debugging“.

We connect the tablet to the computer via USB.

Now download this archive to your computer   . Unzip it and find AndroidTool.exe in it – run it.

Click the “Refresh” button (see photo above), and then search for connected gadgets. When the search is complete, find the device in the “Select device” field. In the “Choose DNS to use” list, select DNS and click “Connect“.

A window will open with the connection string running. A new “USB tunnel” application will appear on your Android tablet or smartphone. May require Superuser rights. I agree by clicking “Grant“.

That’s all, after that you will see the words “Connection done“, and then the computer will be able to distribute the Internet connection via USB with an Android smartphone or tablet.
