What Is GPS Technology?
Every Android phone is equipped with GPS , and you might be curious about the GPS feature . GPS stands for Global Positioning System which was originally developed by the American army in 1973. The GPS on your cellphone uses an antenna that is connected to drivers and software to communicate with GPS satellites orbiting the earth.
GPS is widely used in navigation applications, such as Google Maps and location-based games, such as Pokémon GO. These applications and games require a good GPS signal to determine location accuracy. GPS does not always have good signal quality because it is influenced by several factors such as weather conditions and hardware or software installed. However, there are several ways to improve GPS signals so you can still get an accurate location. Immediately see our way below.

Turning on “High Accuracy” Mode
You can turn on the “High Accuracy” mode on Android to get a better GPS signal so that your GPS location will be more accurate. Activating this mode will use more battery than usual , but you don’t need to worry because you can return to the standard battery saving mode later.
To turn on the feature, you can simply enter “Settings” on the device, click “Location”, make sure the GPS feature is active, select “Mode“, then select “High Accuracy” to turn it on.
Ensuring GPS Signal is Always Active
When we switch from applications that require GPS signals to other applications, for example from Google Maps then open BBM, the GPS signal can die because to save battery. Then, when we re-open Google Maps, the new GPS signal will light up and require a reconnection. To make sure the GPS signal is always active, you can simply install the GPS Locker application.
Finding Out the Location of GPS Problems
One application that can help you find out the problem is GPS Essentials. You simply enter the application, then click “Sattelites” to see the GPS satellite connection. If no satellites appear, it is likely due to strong metal interference around you. And If the satellite appears but there is no connection, a problem might be with the software. If it is found that the software is the problem, you can try other methods in this article.
Refreshing GPS Data
Our device will sometimes be “stuck” on certain GPS satellites even though we are no longer within its reach. This can cause GPS signals to mess up and not function properly.
To fix this, you can use applications such as GPS Status & Toolbox. Simply run the application, tap the screen, select the menu icon, select “Manage A-GPS state“ , click “Reset“ , after completing returning to “Manage A-GPS state“ , then select “Download“ . Your GPS data has been refreshed, if the problem reappears, just repeat the method.
Using an External GPS Receiver
If your mobile GPS signal is still less stable, you can try to use an external GPS receiver, such as the Garmin GLO GPS. The tool functions to increase and stabilize the GPS signal.
Those are some ways to improve your cell phone GPS signal. Do you have other recommendations? Share with us in the comments column below.
