Step 1 : Before you begin: If you are using voice activation / voice recognition from the Google Assistant for the first time, you need to tap on ” Home “button and hold it for few seconds.
Step 2 : Open the Google app . Make sure it is up to date. If it does not, an update is suggested to you at the start . Then tap the three dashes (☰) at the bottom right .
Step 3 : Now select ” Settings ” on the left.
Step 4 : First tap on the tab ” Language ” and then on ” Voice Match “.
Step 5 : Now move the slider next to ” Access with Voice Match “. This turns blue as soon as the option is switched on. You will probably be redirected directly to the speech recognition setup.
Step 6 : By tapping on ” I agree, ” you agree that your tablet or smartphone may listen to ” OK Google ” at any time – even if the screen is off.
Step 7 : Now you have to say ” OK Google ” three times for the system to recognize your voice.
Step 8 : If the process was successful, the setup of ” OK Google ” is complete. Now you can always say ” OK Google ” to open the Google Assistant. By the way, here’s a list of helpful voice commands for the Google Assistant.

- Then select ” Language ” in the ” Search ” section.
- Now tap on ” Voice Match ” and set the slider in ” Access with Voice Match “, so that it is no longer gray, but blue. Then press ” I agree “.
