How To Delete Search History On Instagram
There are situations when we need a little more intimacy in our activities – whether by visiting websites of dubious reputation or to hide some shameful secrets. Everyone has them and probably everyone would prefer that they would not see the light of day. Various factors can contribute to a situation that creates an increased danger of detecting our secrets – which is why there is a feature that allows you to delete Instagram history. How to delete Instagram search history?
Unlike most of the functions available in the application, this can be done from both the computer and the phone. Below I describe step by step how to clear history in both ways:
- Delete history on your computer:
- Go to the Instagram website
- Log in to your account
- Click the human icon to go to your profile
- Click “edit profile“
- From the available tabs, select “Privacy and Security“
- Then click on “Account Information“
- Finally select the “History” tab and then click “Clear Search History”
And please, your Instagram search history has been cleared.
- Delete history on the phone:
- Launch the Instagram application
- If your account is not yet active, log in
- Touch the human icon – it will take you to your profile
- Touch the three horizontal dashes icon in the upper right corner of the screen
- Select the “Settings” button – it is at the very bottom of the slideout menu
- Go to the “Privacy and security” tab
- After driving down to the bottom you will see the option “Clear search history“. Clicking on it will take you to the next menu where you again have to choose the option with the same content. To the question “Are you sure” we answer “Yes, definitely” and … it’s ready!
Please note that deleting history will not delete the suggestions in the search bar at the same time. Each of these individual suggestions should be removed separately, directly in the search menu. Just touch the cross icon on the right next to each of the proposed profiles. After removing several such suggestions in a row we will be asked whether to delete this section permanently – if we agree, the suggestions will no longer be displayed in the search panel. Remember, however, that after entering any letter, the first results displayed will be the ones that were once searched – this type of proposal is connected to your account and will be displayed on every device you use.
