Google Duo is enhanced with four new features

Google announced the addition of four new features to the Google Duo in order to make the personal communication tool even more complete and functional.

According to the company, more than 10 million new people have signed up for the Duo in the past few weeks and, in many countries, call minutes have increased by more than ten times.

And with increasingly fierce competition, especially with Facebook, Google has been running out of time to improve the Duo and keep it as a viable option for users.

Find out what’s new in the Duo:

1) Google is introducing a new video codec technology to improve the quality and reliability of video calls, even over very low bandwidth connections. The difference is notable:

2) Now you can take a photo to capture moments on smartphones, tablets and Chromebooks and automatically share it with everyone on the call.

Instead of registering the image on the screen, the application makes an automatic collage to produce a more interesting and shareable record.

You will be able to do this on group calls and on more devices soon.

3) Although Google has already increased the capacity of the Google Duo to 12 participants in video calls, the company plans to further increase the number of participants.

4) Augmented Reality Effects can now be part of video calls, making moments with friends and family more fun.
