Adding someone to Snap allows you to receive snaps, view Story, and chat via chat. The person you added must also add you to their friends to receive your snaps. This is where Snapchat differs, for example, from Facebook. On Facebook, the other person must accept the invitation to allow full access to view the profile of the invited person. Depending on your privacy settings, Snapchat allows you to add friends without having to accept them, and this can be awkward in some situations.
Locking a selected person on Snapchat is different from just removing someone from your friends list. Removing from the friends list will prevent you from viewing the snaps of a given person and Story, but this will not limit the viewing of the snaps you send to that person in any way. However, blocking a person on Snapchat will result in:
- Removal from friends list.
- Removing you from this person’s friend list.
- Blocking sends you snaps and chat messages.
- Block viewing of your Story.
- Block you from adding you to your friends list again.
