ZIP is a file archiving and lossless data compression format. This format is convenient to carry many files, and a smaller size will be an advantage. File compression is usually done using the Deflate algorithm. Android can’t open this format out of the box, so the only solution would be to use third-party applications on Google Play. However, which one is the best and proven?
Google previously released the Files app – it’s a file manager. It can also be used to open ZIP archives. To do this, download the application at the link below. After installation, open it and go to “View“. If the file is in the “Downloads“, you can immediately open the “Downloads” category. In our case, the ZIP archive was downloaded from the Telegram, so go to the internal memory, find the Telegram folder, and then go to the Telegram Documents. This folder should contain the downloaded file. If you click it, the application will offer to extract the archive files, after clicking “Continue” a small window will open with a preview of the documents.
Click “Done” and the archive will be unzipped in a folder with the same name.
Files – an extremely convenient and useful application from Google
In the “Share” section you can share videos, applications and other data with the closest people who have this solution.
Particular attention is paid to the interface, made in the style of Material Design second version with Google Sans fonts. The main Files window displays the amount of memory used and analyzes the memory for unneeded files. Duplicates, application cache with photos and videos, downloaded and large files are located just below. Simply put, Google files, in addition to handling ZIP files, will appeal to you because of many other features. We recommend!
