How to permanently delete one or more Gmail accounts

Situation

Permanently delete one or more Gmail accounts – Although Gmail is the best email platform out there, there is also a category of people who disagree with this. Whether it’s promotional emails, different labels, or because you’re unsure of your security, Gmail may not be the best email option for any user.

But there is an easy way to delete your account, unless you use Google services and other platforms (such as YouTube or Google search), it is best to check that the rest of the information will not be deleted.

Backup

Before you permanently delete your Gmail account, there are a few things to consider and check:

  1. If your Gmail account is associated with any social media accounts, you will no longer be able to recover or reset those accounts. These include Facebook, Youtube, iTunes, Instagram, etc. Before you delete your account, create an alternate email account to move everything there.
  2. If you are an email subscriber to services you would like to continue reading, you will also need to change the information in those accounts
  3. Any contacts or information stored in Gmail will be lost. It is a good idea to download the data and archive it elsewhere.
  4. Deleting your Gmail account will not release your username. So, if you ever want a new Gmail account, you’ll need a new username.
  5. Deleting your Gmail account will not delete your Google account, so you will still be able to access Drive and other Google features if you wish.
