Snapchat is not a paradise for kids. Offending and bullying is simpler there than elsewhere

Young people love Snapchat, because you can throw in the stupidest photo or short movie and after a certain time it will disappear. Parents will not see the irresponsible behavior of their child. But Snapchat is also nude photos of teenagers and unlimited possibilities of harassing people we don’t like.

Snapchat is not a paradise for kids. Offending and bullying is simpler there than elsewhere

Youth doesn’t like Facebook, but Snapchat they loves it . The reason is simple: you can upload a photo from the party, set it so that only selected people see it and after a few minutes it disappears. You don’t have to remember to delete anything or worry about our Snapchat falling into the wrong hands. However, there is also the other side of the coin.

How 13-year-olds use Snapchat?

Business Insider quotes an entry from the 13-year-old Ruby Karp blog , which describes how she and her friends use Snapchat. They use it mainly for fun, that is, they throw stupid photos, ugly selfies . This is the only social networking site where they can afford it because they actually have privacy. On Facebook or Instagram, mom can easily get their photos, on Snapchat it is not so easy.

We’ve known this for a long time, Ruby is not writing anything new. Much has been written about the benefits of the application and why it is perfect for teens. But the dark side of Snapchat is hardly realized .

It is not always nice and pleasant

Naked pics and tormentors

Since everything disappears from Snapchat, some kids feel free and make naked pics that show their friends and sometimes strangers. They think the person on the other side will see it, that’s all. This ends it. But this is not the case – the person on the other side can take a screenshot using an application such as Snap Save. The one who sent a nude photo will not even realize that he has just been immortalized.

You can also harass other users on Snapchat by sending them unpleasant messages . “I happened to receive unpleasant Snapchats, but I have no proof that someone ever wrote to me at all, because the pictures disappeared after 10 seconds,” writes the teenager. You can’t escape it, your parents won’t help either. The only thing you can do is to become resistant to such situations or stop using Snapchat. The latter is not so simple. After all, all friends use the application, and in addition is the only place where the kids are “safe” from their parents.
