THE FUTURE IS ON THE WAY

Technology takes drivers into the future.

In the last century, the telephone was used for conversations and the car was used to move from place to place. In the 21st century, in the era of multitasking, objects become machines that not only perform actions for a human being, but also make their own decisions.

In recent years, the car industry, thanks to cooperation with the largest technology companies, has gained a new goal, with global social support: the production of the most advanced, most convenient and safest vehicles. Cars are becoming intelligent machines with advanced emergency braking capabilities, mapping technology for autonomous driving, better fuel efficiency and management in the CaaS (Car-as-a-service) system.

What future drivers will go to – this is an overview of trends in the automotive industry, which it implements, among others Tata Electric, Mahindra Electric, Ola Electric, Kona Electric whose programmers are involved in projects in the automotive sector.

1. More and more electric cars

Tesla is at the forefront of electric car manufacturers. In 2016, over 2 million electric cars were sold worldwide. This number is growing every year. In 2017, Norway sold more electric cars than combustion cars in some months. More and more car manufacturers are implementing the production of electric cars. Tesla has been joined by companies such as VW, General Motors and Volvo, which stated that from 2019 it will only produce electric and hybrid models.

Electric cars are also becoming more affordable. Hyundai, Toyota, Kia offer hybrid vehicles under $ 30,000. It is estimated that in the United States by 2030, every fourth car purchased will be electric, and in China even every third.

2. Predictive cars

Personalization of driving is possible thanks to artificial intelligence and machine learning. More and more manufacturers are using algorithms to automate parking. The journey itself is more pleasant, because the panel in the car, controlled by voice or even gesture, additionally connects to the smartphone, will be a vivid example of IoT.

The vehicle is additionally equipped with sensors that inform the driver about the need to visit a mechanic and send alerts related to failures.

3. Autonomous cars

Manufacturers strive for autonomous driving of cars now offering semi-autonomous capabilities through automatic braking or mapping technology that monitors blind spots.

The future of the automotive industry is definitely moving towards the autonomy of vehicles and providing detailed information on the condition of the car. Let’s hope that the Highway Code will be able to keep up with the changes.
