Step 1:
First of all, you need to load the Windows 10 advanced startup options . Turn off your PC and start it again. Then press the [F8] key repeatedly . If the Windows logo appears , you must repeat the process .
2nd step:
If you are in the advanced startup options, click the ” Troubleshooting ” and ” Advanced Options ” and then switch to ” prompt “.
3rd step:
Now enter the following commands one after the other :
bootrec / fixmbr – This command writes a new master boot record to disk
bootrec / fixboot – This command writes a boot sector to the hard disk that is compatible with Windows 10.
bootrec / scanos – This command scans all volumes for installations that are compatible with Windows 10.
4th step:
Then close the command prompt and return to the advanced startup options home screen . Click on “Turn Off PC ” and then turn it on again to reboot .
What to do if bootrec can not find a Windows installation?
If the previous step-by-step guide did not solve the problem of the failed boot manager, there is another method through bcdboot to fix the problem. Proceed as follows:
Download the advanced startup options of Windows 10. Turn off your PC and start it again. Then press the [F8] key repeatedly .
Now type in ” select partition X “, where X is the partition where your Windows is installed.
Now enter ” type active “.
Then enter ” type exit “.
With ” bcdboot c: \ windows ” you can restore the bootloader. Please adjust the drive letters, in the example c: is the Windows partition .
Finally, restart your PC.
Quick start Guide
Start your PC in the advanced startup options menu by repeatedly pressing the [F8] key after turning on the PC . If the Windows logo appears , you must repeat the process again .
Now click on the Advanced Boot Options to ” troubleshooting ” and ” Advanced Options ” and then select ” command prompt “.
Enter the following commands one after the other :
” bootrec / fixmbr ”
” bootrec / fixboot ”
” bootrec / scanos “
Close the command prompt and click “Turn Off PC ” on the startup screen of Advanced Boot Options . Then restart your PC.
