In Cognos accessing of data is done through cognos connections. It is a single interface.
Use Cognos Connection to

- Hierarchical structures can be created
- Folders, shortcuts, report views, and URL links can be created to organize the reports in a meaningful way
- To locate an entry within a folder hierarchy search can be performed.

- Administering of reports is done by administrators.

- Public Folders – Shared and utilized by many users
- My Folders – Contain personal reports. Not accessible by others

- Select to view the report now
- Save the report

Reports can be run on a specific date and time by scheduling
