SAS FIX – You are not defined as a user in metadata and are connecting as PUBLIC.

While connecting to SAS for the first time most of the new user face this issue.

SAS FIX – Error

An unexpected error has occurred while accessing metadata.
You are not defined as a user in metadata and are connecting as PUBLIC. It appears that the current authorizations will not allow the connection to continue. Please contact your administrator.

 

The above error occurs when the user exist on server but not on metadata server due to which user is not authorized to connect to the SAS server.


How to fix ?

Follow our Quick Guide to fix You are not defined as a user in metadata.

  • Log on to SAS Management Console as sasadm@saspw.
  • From left hand option right click on User Manager >New >User
  • Provide Name of the User in General Tab and in Groups and Roles provide basic authorization of application along with default Authentication Domain inside Account Tab.
  • Then Click Ok.
  • Now ask user to re-connect and see the magic.
