How to switch from iPhone to Android without losing contacts ? Changing one iPhone to another is not difficult. But how to migrate to another operating system can lead to dementia. But don’t despair. We have a solution on how to do it. And not even one, but five at a time! So you will not stay without a phone book. Although these mobile operating systems are two completely different worlds, there are several ways to transfer data from one device to another. And now we will analyze the most convenient of them.

Method 1. Manually (suitable for small lists)

If you want to transfer only specific contacts, you can use the Share option on your iPhone. Open the Contacts application and select the contact you want to save. Swipe down and select the card that lets you share it via email or message. Send the contact and save it to the new device.

Method 2. By iCloud

  • The second way to transfer contacts from iPhone to Android is to use the Apple cloud system. Or rather its computer version. Log in to iCloud in the Contacts application. Then select the contacts you need by selecting them in the list or all at once by clicking the gear icon and selecting “Select All“.
  • Press the gear button again and select “Export business card“. The computer will download the VCF file containing the selected contacts.
  • Connect the Android smartphone to the computer, copy the VCF file to the local memory in the phone memory, and then import contacts from the Contacts application already located on the smartphone. The Contacts application has the ability to add data from various sources, including internal memory or SD cards. Therefore, where you initially saved the .vcf file does not matter.

Method 3. Use third-party applications

In this example, we will use the My Contacts Backup application   , but there are other options on popular virtual platforms.

  • Download and run the application on your iPhone.
  • When the “MCBackup” application requests access to your contacts, tap OK.
  • Click “Backup“.
  • Enter the email address to which you want to send the data, attach the VCF file to the email and send it to your Gmail account.
  • Open the email from the Android device, download the VCF file and import contacts to the phone.

Method 4. Using the GMail service

  • Select the contacts you want to save (this should also be done in the iCloud version).
  • Click the gear icon and select Export business card.
  • Similar to method 2, you will receive a VCF file containing exported contacts.
  • Then log in to your Google account on your PC. Click the Gmail logo in the upper left corner of the control panel.
  • Select Contacts, click the Advanced drop-down menu and select Import.
  • After importing, the contacts will be automatically synced to the Android device connected to this account.

Method 5. Export contacts to GMail via iTunes

  • Launch iTunes on your computer.
  • Connect the iPhone to the computer.
  • Open the device management page and go to the “Information” tab.
  • Tap “Sync contacts from” and then select “Google Contacts“.
  • Enter the username and password for the Google account and click Apply.
  • Make sure your Android device is connected to the same account. If everything is OK, contacts will automatically appear on your smartphone.
