Uber reveals flying ride service

Uber revealed its ambitious vision for a future where taxis and cars are a thing of the past.

The app has strengthened in recent years and its next flying service, the ‘Uber Air‘, will be a hybrid vehicle between drone and plane that could change the orientation of its rotors to help it take off and land.

Each flying vehicle will be able to carry four passengers at a time.

The company is working on a special platform project for the existing buildings, facilitating the integration of the service in modern or old cities.

While Uber admits that this new mode of transportation will not be cheap, the company believes that, over time, prices will drop to the point where it will not be more expensive than having a car.

“Our vision is that flying will be easier than driving every day,” said Eric Allison, director of Uber Elevate.

The tests are due to start next year and, if all goes well, the service could be launched in 2023.
