How to make voice and video calls on PC – One of the longstanding requests from WhatsApp Web users is about to be fulfilled: the possibility of making voice and video calls in the browser version of the messenger. The function had already been revealed in source code analysis in September.
According to information from the website WABetaInfo , a reference in news about WhatsApp, this possibility was found in version 2.2043.7 of WhatsApp Web , but it is not yet available to the public. The feature is expected to begin testing on an experimental basis in the coming weeks.

Voice and video calls on WhatsApp Web
Voice and video calls on WhatsApp grew during the pandemic. The high demand meant that developers had to expand their focus on applying improvements and new features to the service. Among the novelties of this period, for example, the limit of users per call increased.
However, voice and video calls remain restricted to the mobile version of the service. You cannot make or answer voice or video calls if you are using the web version of the application.
That is expected to change in the coming weeks. Although WhatsApp developers do not confirm that the feature is on its way, it is very likely that in the next beta version it will be enabled so that a select group of users can start testing. The way it works will be similar to what we have today in the traditional version of the messenger.
Step 1. When you receive a call, be it voice or video, a pop-up will appear on the WhatsApp Web tab . From there you will have the options to “Refuse” or “Answer”.
Step 2. The same is true when you make the call. When you click on the corresponding icon, a pop-up appears on the screen with buttons for “Call”, “Turn On or Off” the camera and “Turn On or Off” the microphone. The status of the call will also be displayed.

How to enable voice or video calling feature on WhatsApp Web
Unfortunately, there is nothing to do but wait. The WhatsApp development team has not released an official date on when the first tests of this function will begin. So, unless you are chosen as one of the users of the trial version, for now it is not possible to activate the feature that is already present in the service’s source code.
What you can do is make sure you always have the most updated version of the service. In this case, as of 2.2043.7 this information has already been included in the code. It is believed that in the next few years the resource will be put to tests, but it should still be a few months before everyone has access to this novelty.
Finally, according to the analysis of the application’s source code, it will be possible to use WhatsApp Web to make voice and video calls both in groups and in individual conversations.
