Why YouTube Displays Ads On YouTube Videos?
This thing you all knows very well that a business requires a capital (in terms of money) with a good profit in order to continue with it. This rule directly applies to this Gigantic industry. YouTubers at first needs some amount of financial support in order to continue with this. If there’s no revenue in YouTube industry, I’m pretty much sure that no one had posted even a single video there. That’s the motivating reason behind this.
YouTube displays ads based on your interest from your Google account which you have connected with it. And, whenever a YouTuber passes a fixed required criteria he/she becomes able to monetize. In case of YouTube, a you tuber has to cross 1000 Subscribers and 4000 Watch hours time limit in order to start monetizing. In short, he/she can’t place ads before satisfying this criteria. Thus, one can’t be able to earn money.
Are YouTuber’s Greedy ?
No, never. I am not saying that longer video time means thousands of ads make it longer. Rather, due to The Channel Into, with A formality in which you tuber asks to subscribe their channel with frustrating ads makes it longer. Interesting, right! Most of the YouTubers knows very well that long video time can distracts the user to click on another video with shorter time period. But, it’s true said circumstances makes the time poor. They don’t intend to put one after another ads in a single video to generate more revenue.
Yes, it’s true that they wants more views but it doesn’t mean their first objective behind each video is money and money…
What’s the reason behind Longer video time?
This thing started from many years back. As that time, the youtuber’s needed just 10,000 views over the lifetime in their channel and that’s it. So, they tries to upload short videos as 10,000 views can be easily achieved by uploading 10 videos only. But, as the algorithm changed , to 1000 subscribers and 4000 watch hours, it changed the world completely.
From their onwards, people used their selfish mind and started putting longer videos to gain more watch hours. So, there’s one popular statement, i would like to quote here :
“Gone are the days of the 30-second clip. Today’s most successful YouTube videos last 20 minutes or longer, a trend driven by the push for ad revenue.”
Another reason is that, YouTube pays a large amount when a channel completes 1M and so on views on a particular video. The amount isn’t revealed by anybody yet due to the Privacy Policy. But, you can guess it to some extent. This is one of the root cause of this menace.
