Windows 10 no longer has the old type of recently opened file list in the boot menu or anywhere else. In this post, I will show you how to check the list of recently opened files in Windows 10.
“Quick access” in File Explorer.
The quickest and easiest way to see the list of recently opened files is via the “Quick Access” tab in the file explorer. The disadvantage of this solution is that there is only a list of 20 recently opened files. Of course, this does not mean that you cannot check all recently opened files.
launch.exe
To enable the launch.exe application, simply go to the start menu and type run. After enabling the application, just type: shell:recent so we immediately go to the folder of recently used items , i.e. the full list of recently opened files.
Desktop shortcut
If you often want to access recently used files, it is best to create a desktop shortcut for the folder with these files. To do this, right-click anywhere on the desktop and select: New -> Shortcut . A shortcut creation window will appear, in which as the file location you should enter: %AppData%\Microsoft\Windows\Recent\
A new folder called ” Recently used items ” will appear on your desktop where you will find all recently opened files. You can also pin a shortcut to the start screen in the start menu.
